The landmark World Happiness Report, an annual publication which maps out the level of happiness of citizens across 137 countries, was released and this particular edition aimed at showcasing, through life evaluations and emotions, how in the past years global happiness has been influenced by crisis situations.
We are delighted to share that Mauritius has achieved a remarkable feat by being ranked as the happiest country in Africa and the 59th happiest country worldwide, out of a total of 149 countries, according to the esteemed World Happiness Report 2023. This report meticulously evaluates the happiness and well-being of individuals across the globe, taking into account a range of essential factors including social support, life expectancy, and personal freedom. Mauritius’ top ranking in Africa reflects its strong social support network, low levels of corruption, and high life expectancy, among other factors.
This achievement is a testament to the resilience and positive mindset of the people of Mauritius, who have consistently demonstrated their ability to overcome challenges and embrace a culture of happiness and well-being.
